How it works
Personalised support, tailored to your unique journey and needs.
Step two
Following the introduction session, I will write, and send to you, a 'formulation' - a summary of your history and present issues. Included in the formulation will be a proposed wellbeing plan, which may suggest that we see each other for a certain amount of time, and outline the goals we may work towards. It is then up to you whether the plan fits you, whether you'd like to change anything, and if you would like to continue with regular sessions.

Step one
We have a 10-minute phone call, and if we seem to be a good fit, we follow it up with a free 50-minute introduction session, online or offline in my office. This session is for us to get to know each other, and to go over the main challenges you are facing.

What's important to me
There is no one particular mental health intervention that will work for everyone. It is important to tailor support to each person individually.
In every intervention, though, there is a magic ingredient: the relationship between helper and helpee. It is this relationship that serves as a sandbox for testing ideas and approaches to problems in life and other relationships. It is a relationship that is stable, non-judgemental, open, honest, and reliable. From this base, healing can take place, and progress can be made.

Ethics and transparency
I abide by, and am accountable to, the Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions published by the British Association for the Counselling Professions. It mandates the observance of the following principles:
Trustworthiness
Autonomy
Beneficence
Non-maleficence
Justice
Self-Respect
Information shared in sessions is kept completely confidential, with the only exceptions being when there is risk of serious harm to client or a member of the public, if I am required to share by court order, or when sharing anonymised information with my supervisor. Confidentiality will be discussed in more detail in the introductory session.
Reach out
Get in touch for more information, or a 10-minute introduction phonecall. After the call, I offer a free 50-minute session so we can get to know each other, and see if we're a good fit.
